The English form only a small minority of English speaking people. And even the English pronounce some words in a vastly different way, depending on where you are in England. To me, a language is more what it actually is, than what it should be according to a small minority. There is no wrong here as there is a wrong in mathematics. If there should be a standard for pronunciation at all, in this day and age I would take the American way of speaking, and boy, there are big differences in pronunciation over there as well.

Hi, awesome tips and just a comment about the word “genre” and by the way I’m French : the pronunciation is horrible in English. It hurts my ears every time. I can’t stand this pronunciation in English. The r is very soft and the work delicate in French but in English is so emphasised that it seems American or English speak about ham or food or sausages, nothing delicate here at all … This word should be banned in English 😂 it’s awful really. Best
